One of the oldest law firms in Europe, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has 29 offices across Asia and two in the U.S. The Bank of England was one of the firm’s first clients and remains one to this day. Other clients include the London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Bank. The firm advised Volkswagen on its $4.3 billion settlement with the U.S. government in a case involving diesel emissions. The firm also advised Anheuser-Busch in its $108 billion acquisition of SABMiller and was counsel to United in its merger with Continental.
