Fury Warrior Tier Sets

Season 4 sees the return of the Season 2 tier set for Fury Warrior, a much beloved tier set by many Warrior players. This tier set provides the following buffed bonuses compared to Season 2:

  • 2 set: Damage and Critical Strike chance of Rampage increased by 15% (was 10%).
  • 4 set: Each cast of Rampage causes your next Bloodthirst to deal 30% (was 25%) increased damage, have 12% (was 10%) increased Crit chance and generate 2 extra Rage per stack. Max 10 stacks.

Legendary Weapon

Fyr’alath, the Dreamrender is the legendary weapon that can be acquired from Fyrakk. The quest starting item has a chance to drop on ANY difficulty, with higher chances to drop from higher difficulties.

In a statement from Blizzard, higher difficulties include the drop chances from difficulties below, as long as you haven’t already done them.

This weapon is by far our best obtainable weapon this patch due to its decent passive effect and high item level. The on-use is awkward as you are rooted for 3 seconds during its channel, so care needs to be taken to use this at a safe time so as not to be killed.

The on-use is best saved until you have CD downtime (no Avatar or CS active). Note that you do not generate Rage during this time, so plan your globals immediately after the channel accordingly.

Going back to the Season 2 tier set and playstyle does make using the legendary slightly harder in general due to how important every global is for Anger Management value and how much uptime we have on Recklessness. It will mostly be worth sending the on use portion of Fyr’alath even if Recklessness is up assuming it will not drop within the next 5 seconds or so.

Acquiring the legendary is still possible in Season 4 as well as being upgradeable to 502 baseline with the new Antique Bronze Bullion coins. It costs 2 coins to upgrade Fyr’alath to 502 item level and can then be upgraded further through the normal means of Crests and Flightstones through to 535 item level, making it the highest item level weapon in the game along with the Hunter Bow from Razageth and the Evoker legendary weapon.

Bronze Bullion usage

Listed below are the first 4 pieces of gear you should look to buy with the new Bronze Bullion coins. Keep in mind you get 1 coin per week as standard and each piece of gear costs 2 coins to buy.

  1. Scale of Awakening (Fyr’alath the Dreamrender upgrade item). Only worth taking if you currently have the Fyr’alath weapon.
  2. Seal of Diurna’s Chosen (Eranog Ring). This will be a highly contested item so buying it early with Bronze Bullion is likely your best chance at getting the ring at all.
  3. TRINKETS. Your choice of trinket will depend on what content you’re seeking to do during Season 4. The best option for a balance of Raids and Mythic+ is probably Augury of the Primal Flame.
  4. Seal of Fillial Duty (Broodkeeper Diurna Ring). Another highly contested ring. Same reasoning as the Eranog ring.

Fury Warrior Best in Slot Gear

You should still prioritise the gear you use by running a sim for your character, but the lists below will give you a good idea of what items are considered good for Fury Warrior, and help you target the right content for each piece of loot.

Legendary Weapon: Fyr’alath, the Dreamrender. Dropping from Fyrakk, it's highly advised to do Heroic every week for a chance to get this weapon. The weapon will go in Main Hand on acquisition.

NOTE: Due to the huge amount of raid choices in Season 4, a lot of our most powerful gear is coming from raid. While it won’t be necessary to obtain EVERY piece from raid, I would highly suggest at least trying to obtain the 2 raid rings from Vault of the Incarnates as no other ring comes even remotely close in power.

Fury Warrior Trinkets

At the time of writing, these are the best trinkets for single target:

Both rare trinkets are valuable with Augury being significantly RNG dependent. While Tainted Heart may be a tank trinket, its damage on use cannot be underestimated.

You are by no means limited to these trinkets alone. There are a lot of powerful options from both raid and M+ including:

If you get your hands on any of these trinkets, you are in a good spot.

Crafted Gear

Crafted gear is still as important as ever, but our choices are very straightforward this time in terms of embellishments.

Raiding

Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch - Fury looks like it’s going to need as much single target help as it can get and raw stats alone likely just won’t cut it. As such, the Shadowflame embellishment regains a significant amount of value for Season 4.

Allied Wristguards of Companionship - Still a very solid option if you have it already and don’t have the gold to remake a new embellishment piece.

Mythic+

The best options are Frostfire Legguards of Preparation and Blue Silken Lining.

Frostfire Legguards of Preparation for M+ are still good on paper and are likely to be in a better spot for Season 4 than they were in Season 3 due to better pack to pack damage with Recklessness and Ravager.

Even with low uptime, Blue Silken Lining is a very strong embellishment. For Fury specifically, its value could be significantly diminished due to stacking a lot of Mastery on gear already causing some significant diminishing returns. Even with this in mind, Blue Silken Lining remains a good option.

Special mention to Shadowflame again. Fury will benefit majorly from a single target damage boost of any kind making Shadowflame Patch a great choice to push up the somewhat weak single target damage of the spec.

Gear Upgrading

The new crest system is incredibly powerful and can offer any player a significantly high item level within a couple of weeks of playing their character.

For the most part, consider upgrading slots that you are unlikely to replace anytime soon while also trying to focus on high-value slots, such as weapons and major armor pieces like the chest and legs.

You gain crests very quickly, so don't hold back on upgrading if you can gain a significant power boost immediately, even if you may replace that piece of gear in a week or two.
